SNI - Syndicat National de l'Isolation

The National Insulation Union (Syndicat National de l'Isolation) promotes the professional branch of thermal and acoustic insulation in France and Europe and defends the legal and social interests of its members.
Founded in 1936 by insulators and cold storage builders, today the SNI comprises over 230 firms, manufacturers and experts, each of whom contribute their know-how to promote their activities in the sector of industry and construction.
Actively present within ministries, in standardisation commissions, qualification and certification committees, SNI members are ideally placed to propose and deliver global solutions for acoustic performance, energy savings and the reduction of CO2 emissions.
The SNI has seven complementary sections (acoustics, cold storage, thermal products and fire protection, blowing of insulation materials, building thermals, industrial thermals and asbestos processing). Members meet regularly to:
- draw up professional charters
- define Unified Technical Documents
- publish professional rules
- calculate the INSEE (French National Institute for Statistics & Economic Studies) indexes for the profession
- introduce qualifying training
- establish the communication strategy
- allocate the mandats of its representatives for external engagements
- respond to members’ concerns and particular questions.
The SNI is a member of :
- the European Federation of Associations of Insulation Companies (FESI)
- the French Building Federation (FFB)
- the Noise Information and Documentation Centre (CIDB).
